My New Picture Book is Here!
Hello Everyone,
It’s here…well, almost! My newest picture book, THE OLDEST STUDENT: How Mary Walker Learned to Read, will debut on January 7, 2020.
That date may seem a long way away, but it will be here before you know it! It has truly been a beautiful journey getting this book from mental image to paper to the bookshelves!
I will share the story of this book’s journey in upcoming articles. In the meantime, I want to thank my agent-extraordinaire, Tracy Marchini, who believed in me from the very beginning; the lovely Anne Schwartz of Schwartz & Wade books; my late mentor and friend, W.C. Hunter, and my big sister Marlena Russell, to whom I dedicated this book.
