New Beginnings…and a Picture Book Opportunity
Hi Everybody,
Breezing through to say…Happy New Year!
There is an old saying that if you like the way your life is going, you should keep doing what you’re doing. But if you don’t like the way it’s going, you should do things differently.
Well, I like the way my life is going, so I’m moving past that part. But I don’t particularly like the way my blogs have been going. Lately, I’ve been so bogged down with editing and writing assignments for others, my own posts have fallen by the way side.
No more! I’m changing things, starting with this post.
First, Happy New Year again! Second, passing on a bit of exciting news: The Children’s Book Academy is offering several full and partial scholarships for an upcoming 5-week interactive session called The Craft and Business of Writing Children’s Picture Books.
Here is a brief list of eligibility criteria:
• Be a member of an ethnic minority or LGBQT
• Be committed to making children’s books
• Write a 40-60 word description of themselves, their background, and why they’d like this scholarship.
• Compose a 30-word descriptive pitch for a 600-word or less picture book

Best wishes and happy writing,
