Hello Everyone! I am a former special education teacher, and am currently a full-time children's writer, book blogger and freelance editor. My newest picture book, The Oldest Student: How Mary Walker Learned to Read (Random House) debuted as the No. 1 Picture Book in Women's Biographies and Children's American History. It has received STARRED REVIEWS from Kirkus, Booklist, Publisher's Weekly and School Library Journal, and received a great review by The Wall Street Journal. My first picture book, Hammering for Freedom: The William Lewis Story (Lee and Low) debuted on September 24, 2018. It is a School Library Journal selection and received positive Kirkus and Horn Book reviews. I penned African Americans of Chattanooga: A History of Unsung Heroes, and I earned the 2014 SCBWI Letter of Merit for an unpublished multicultural novel. I am the author of several educational books for teens, and I occasionally review books for The New York Journal of Books. Thanks for visiting!

    Hi there William,
Thanks so much for stopping by. Are you referring to the children’s blog at Picture Book Depot or this one? Doesn’t really matter, either way, I’m thankful for your kind words.

If you’re leaving a comment in order to receive my last copies of the two I Say You Say books, you’re in luck, no one else has claimed them. But I can’t really tell by your comment whether you just like the site or you want the books. If you do, please send another email to this site with your address and zip code. I WON’T PRINT YOUR PERSONAL INFO ON THIS SITE, so you don’t have to worry about that.

By the way, I just checked out your website. Your books are nice. Please consider publishing your book cover on Picture Book Depot. At no charge, I can post your picture book cover(s) on Picture Book Depot’s bookshelf so that my visitors can find your site and your books.

    Have a great evening.
