Happy Father’s Day, Mothers
Hi Everybody,
Hope this Father’s Day finds you feeling appreciated! I’m stopping through to say HAPPY FATHER’S DAY to you all, and to send a very special greeting to a unique type of father that is not often recognized: The single mother.
Motherhood is a wonderful thing, isn’t it? But sometimes a woman finds herself filling the role of both father and mother.
I did. My children are grown now, but I haven’t forgotten the struggle; in fact, my heart is often with those women who, for whatever reason, must somehow do it all themselves.
So now I’m sending out some very Happy Father’s Day wishes:
To every mother who–through no fault of her own–finds herself in the precarious position of being both father AND mother to her children.
To every mother who, after a long day at Job #2, must take up her (usually thankless) duties at Job #1: Cooking, cleaning, listening, directing, and mothering!
To every mother who manages to keep that dazzling, kid-friendly smile pasted on her face even when she’s exhausted beyond words;
To every mother who, instead of complaining about what she doesn’t have, politely works a second (or third) job to afford those things her children need;
And, to every mother who, because there’s no one else around to do it, suavely straps on a tool belt (You wear it well, girl!) and fixes everything in the house that’s broken (and a few things that aren’t).
Yes, to every mother out there who is doing your job and someone else’s, too…this is for you. You are all wonder-women, and you are appreciated.
Happy Father’s Day, Mothers!
Best wishes and happy writing!
